Sildenafil citrate (Viagra) has become a popular medicine to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) in men. It has been found to be effective in treating ED in some patients. However, it's important to note that it is not a cure for ED. Viagra is not a cure for ED and can cause unwanted side effects. It's important to discuss the potential side effects of sildenafil with your doctor to ensure the drug is safe for you and your partner.
Viagra is an FDA-approved medication to treat erectile dysfunction (ED). It works by increasing blood flow to the penis. It may not work as well if taken along with nitrates (often prescribed for chest pain) or guanylate cyclase stimulators like riociguat. These medications can increase your blood pressure and cause your erection to become painful. You can take Viagra if you're taking nitrates, guanylate cyclase stimulators, alpha-blockers (used for heart problems), or alpha-blockers prescribed for high blood pressure.
It is important to note that sildenafil does not work as well if you have high blood pressure or heart disease. It can cause dizziness, headache, and other side effects. It is also not recommended for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
